Pileus - bean-shaped or semicircular, 90 -150 mm across, light brown to reddish brown, smooth and white margin, white underside,  smooth surface, laccate, woody to corky

Stipe -   lateral, eccentric, solid, 50 - 70 mm long

Spores - brown

Ecology - saprophyte on decaying logs, solitary or in group

Edibility - edible but not palatable
